Blue
Mound State Park
The
park is the highest point in Southern Wisconsin. Enjoy scenic panoramic
views from two 40-foot park observation towers. The campground is open
year around and contains 77 wooded sites and a rustic accessible cabin for
people with disabilities. Other amenities include nature programs,
off-road bike trails, picnic grounds and a large outdoor swimming pool.
Campers have direct access to the Military Ridge State Park Trail. The
park is open year-round.

Cave of the Mounds
A
one-hour guided tour of this Registered National Natural Landmark takes visitors
through a cavern of colorful stalactites, stalagmites, waterfalls, and other
mineral formations. In addition to cave exploration, enjoy beautiful rock
gardens and walking trails. Located in the hills of Blue Mounds the
limestone cave was accidentally discovered in 1939 and opened to visitors in
1940. Open year-around.

Governor
Dodge State Park
Governor Dodge
is one of Wisconsin's largest state parks, with 5,270 scenic acres of steep
hills, bluffs, and deep valleys, and a waterfall. The park also has two
large lakes with beaches perfect for swimming or fishing. Enjoy nature and
the trails that Governor Dodge has to offer. It maintains 40 miles of
trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and horseback riding.

Little Norway
Located
in the "Valley of the Elves" and built by a Norwegian immigrant
in 1856, this unique outdoor museum
features the largest privately-owned
collection of Norwegian antiques and artifacts in the country. Tour
guides dressed in traditional
Norwegian apparel guide visitors through the original buildings, including the
Norwegian Pavilion, a replica of a Stave Church, built for the 1893 Chicago
World's Fair. Guided tours are
available daily May through October.

Military Ridge State Trail
The Military
Ridge State Trail is a 40 mile long trail that lies in Iowa and
Dane counties and connects Madison and Dodgeville, Wisconsin, by the communities
of Verona, Klevenville, Riley, Mt. Horeb, Blue Mounds, Barneveld, and Ridgeway.
It runs along the southern borders of Governor Dodge and Blue Mound State Parks.
The trail is open to hikers, bikers, and snowmobiling.

Tyrol Basin Ski & Snowboard Area
Known
in the ski industry to be on the cutting edge of design, construction and
maintenance, Tyrol Basin is situated on 40-acres, minutes outside of Mount Horeb.
This ski and snowboard area offers winter enthusiasts 16 tree-lined slopes
situated on a 300-foot vertical hill and a half pipe, considered the best in the
Midwest.

Yellowstone Lake State Park
An abundance
of wildlife and a 455 acre lake are some of the beauties to
be discovered at Yellowstone Lake. The park offers camping and the lake
furnishes the bulk of the day activities. The lake is shared by personal
watercraft, boats, kayaks, canoes, anglers, and swimmers.
