Wedding Questions

Below is a list of questions and answers that we have complied from past brides, publications, & experience.  These answers are meant to provide helpful guidelines when planning for your big day.

How soon should I meet with the events coordinator to sign the contract?

We recommend meeting between six and four weeks prior to the wedding date.  This time frame usually works out the best because most if not all of the details have been decided and the contract is a breeze to complete.

What do I need to know before I come in to sign the contract?

Florist's name, Centerpieces & Decorations, Cake maker's name & delivery time, DJ's name (setting up time & starting time), Starting Times (Wedding, Reception, Dinner), Bar Information (Kegs, Champagne, Wine, Etc), Wedding Location, Placement (Head table, Gift table, Cake table), Menu Selection, Preliminary count of guests, Etc.

When should I order Invitations & send them out?

It is best to order invitations four to six months before the wedding.  This allows at least a month to get the invitations printed.  Another month to address and send out invitations.  Invitations should be mailed six to eight weeks before the wedding. (8 weeks out of town guests, 6 weeks local guests)  RSVP date should be at least 3 weeks before the wedding date.  Invitees who haven't responded by the due date could then be called.

Envelope Addressing Tips

Outer Envelope---Address the guest formally

(ex. Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Jones or Mr. & Mrs. Thomas Jones & Family)

Avoid writing "and Guest" on the outer envelope

Inner Envelope---without first names

(ex. Mr. & Mrs. Jones or Mr. & Mrs. Jones, Alex & Sam)

Single guests should have "and guests" put on the inner envelope

Envelopes are generally handwritten in black ink

or printed by a home computer in pretty italic font
